Traveling among brethren

New Testament: 2Co 1.15–16

To read the Bible in a year, read Second Corinthians 1 on September 9, In the year of our Lord Christ 2023

By Don Ruhl

Paul traveled for purposes of evangelism, and we generally travel for other reasons, but either way, hopefully we are meeting brethren everywhere.

The apostle reminded the Corinthian church of his travels and the reason for his travels: “And in this confidence I intended to come to you before, that you might have a second benefit—to pass by way of you to Macedonia, to come again from Macedonia to you, and be helped by you on my way to Judea” (2 Corinthians 1.15–16).

He did not see visiting or spending time with brethren as a waste of time, but he knew he would derive some kind of benefit from them.

Questions:

  • Do you visit brethren in your travels?
  • What benefit have you gained from them?
