Dear Friends,
You have undoubtedly noticed that I have not been keeping up with my email devotionals. I am very sorry for my neglect.
However, the problem has been major health problems.
In 1998, I received a kidney from my mother. The hospital where I had the transplant (Oregon Health and Science University, OHSU, in Portland, Oregon), says that I am in the top 2% of people who make it that far.
However, my health has begun to decline in the past one and a half years to where my mother’s kidney is only functioning around 5%. Then two months ago, the decline picked up speed, and this past week and a half the decline has been even faster.
I have been in the hospital for a week.
I have begun dialysis and in the meantime I have discovered heart problems. I had to have two stents put in because one artery was blocked 90% and the other one 80%. There are also other arteries that are 20% to 50% blocked.
The hospital had to give me two units of blood.
It has been a rough couple weeks. The last couple of days have seen improvement.
Anyway, I wanted you to know why the devotionals have not been going out regularly. Lord willing, things will get better. There may be days when a devotional goes out late, but as long as I am able to continue to do this, they shall go out.
I pray for all and I ask for your prayers.

Don, I wish I had the words to describe how much I have learned from your daily devotionals. I read them both every day. I’m praying for God’s watchcare over you.
In Him,
