10.10.2014 Old Testament: Isa 43.14–15
To read the Bible in a year, read Isaiah 43–44 on October 10, In the year of our Lord 2014
By Don Ruhl
The Lord did things for Israel that they might know He was the One who did those things, for then they would go to Him for help and for life. In the passage quoted here, note what the Lord says He was to Israel,
Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer,
The Holy One of Israel:
“For your sake I will send to Babylon,
And bring them all down as fugitives—
The Chaldeans, who rejoice in their ships.
I am the Lord, your Holy One,
The Creator of Israel, your King.”
(Isaiah 43.14–15)
To Israel, the Lord was:
1. Their Redeemer
2. Their Holy One (stated twice)
3. Their Creator
4. Their King
Is He not those things to us now, who are Christians, and are in the church, which is the Israel of God? Do you know what He is to you?
