Do you teach people everything you know at one sitting? No one does that, unless he just does not know very much. There comes a time when we have to stop, and give the person listening some time to digest what we have said. So the Lord did the same with His disciples,

“I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come” (John 16.12–13).

He spoke only what they could bear, but He assured them that they would come to know all the truth, because although He would leave them shortly, He would send the Spirit of Truth, the Holy Spirit, to speak to them all the truth.

They wrote those things down and now we read them in the Bible. Praise the Lord that He gave us all the truth!
