Paul and Barnabas healed a man miraculously who had never walked. The people of the town concluded that the two men were gods and the people set about to offer sacrifices to them. Watch what Paul and Barnabas did,

But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard this, they tore their clothes and ran in among the multitude, crying out and saying, “Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men with the same nature as you, and preach to you that you should turn from these useless things to the living God, who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and all things that are in them, who in bygone generations allowed all nations to walk in their own ways” (Acts 14.14–16).

Paul and Barnabas showed that what they preached, they did not do for their own sake. They did not seek self-honor. They did not seek money, or anything else that they could have easily gotten from these people. Instead the two men turned the hearts of the people from false worship to worshiping the God of heaven.
