Use the Old Testament to show people Jesus

Acts Bible Background

07.30.2015 New Testament: Acts 28.23

To read the Bible in a year, read Acts 28.16–31 on July 30, In the year of our Lord 2015

The Hebrew Bible, Genesis through Malachi, leads us to Jesus, if we open our eyes to this truth, and we can lead others to this grand truth also, even as Paul sought to do,

So when they had appointed him a day, many came to him at his lodging, to whom he explained and solemnly testified of the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus from both the Law of Moses and the Prophets, from morning till evening (Acts 28.23).

The Law and the Prophets spoke of the Kingdom of God and Jesus. Therefore, use that part of the Bible and you will have success, perhaps not as much as Paul, but you will plant the seed in people’s hearts.

  1. I did a Bible study on the Psalms with a seeker. I made it a personal challenge “to see” Jesus in the Psalms. It was amazing all the connections that I discovered (and learned) through the Psalms.

    • Truly, when we open our eyes, we see Jesus all over the Old Testament. Jesus Himself reminded the apostles that He had to fulfill what was written about Him in the Law of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms (Luke 24.44).

Also, all New Testament preachers relied heavily upon the Old Testament to speak of Jesus and His kingdom!

      Keep searching the Scriptures, Debbie!
