08.02.2015 Old Testament: Rom 3.10–18
To read the Bible in a year, read Romans 3 on August 2, In the year of our Lord 2015
By Don Ruhl
After Paul declared that the Jews were not better than the Greeks (representing all other people), because all have sinned, he quoted heavily from the Old Testament to make his point,
As it is written:
“There is none righteous, no, not one;
There is none who understands;
There is none who seeks after God.
They have all turned aside;
They have together become unprofitable;
There is none who does good, no, not one.”“Their throat is an open tomb;
With their tongues they have practiced deceit”;“The poison of asps is under their lips”;
“Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.”
“Their feet are swift to shed blood;
Destruction and misery are in their ways;
And the way of peace they have not known.”“There is no fear of God before their eyes.”
(Romans 3.10–18)
Therefore, we are all in need of one to save us from our sins and the punishment sin requires. We are all in the same boat, the boat of having fallen from God, but let us praise Him, because He reaches down to save us through belief and obedience in Jesus.
