03.12.2016 New Testament: Mark 14.16
To read the Bible in a year, read Mark 14.1–25 on March 12, In the year of our Lord 2016
By Don Ruhl
The Lord instructed some of His disciples to go into the city and they would find a man carrying a pitcher of water. They were to follow him and at that home, they would find a large upper room where Jesus could eat the Passover with His disciples after they had made preparations for it. Mark wrote,
So His disciples went out, and came into the city, and found it just as He had said to them; and they prepared the Passover (Mark 14.16).
No surprise there. The Lord knows everything. He probably prearranged the Passover with the owner of the home. Whatever happened, the Lord runs the show!
Then He ate that precious meal with His beloved disciples. He knew where He would be 24 hours after eating this meal, in the tomb, but the disciples really had no idea what was about to come upon them.
- Have you discovered that the Lord knows everything?
- Have you thought of the Passover meal He shared with His disciples that night and how He is our Passover?
