07.07.2016 – New Testament: Acts 14.17
To read the Bible in a year, read Acts 14 on July 7, In the year of our Lord 2016
By Don Ruhl
The miracles of Paul and Barnabas amazed the people of Lystra, so much so that the people believed that Paul and Barnabas were gods, and prepared to offer sacrifices to them. However, the two preachers sought to stop the people, and turn them to the true and living God, whom those people should have known, as the preachers said,
“Nevertheless He did not leave Himself without witness, in that He did good, gave us rain from heaven and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness” (Acts 14.17).
God had shown the world back then that He existed, and the items that demonstrated His existence still happen today. Therefore, all people should know that He exists, because He does all people good, giving us rain from heaven and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness!
- Can you see the work of God through acts of nature?
- What persuaded you that God exists?
