07.11.2016 – New Testament: Acts 16.34
To read the Bible in a year, read Acts 16.16–40 on July 11, In the year of our Lord 2016
By Don Ruhl
Why did the early church grow? It grew because converts did not expect the leaders to do all the work, but the new converts gladly did good works, even as the Philippian jailer, who did the following after his conversion,
Now when he had brought them into his house, he set food before them; and he rejoiced, having believed in God with all his household (Acts 16.34).
The Roman jailer’s belief led him to feed these Jewish preachers! The preachers were Christians, but they were also Jewish, but that did not stop the jailer and his household from showing kindness to the men who showed him the truth.
