08.05.2016 – New Testament: Rom 6.13–14
To read the Bible in a year, read Romans 6 on August 5, In the year of our Lord 2016
By Don Ruhl
If you have been baptized into Christ, you have been baptized into His death, and you have risen with Him when you came up out of the water, and now you walk in newness of life. That being the case, you must continue to submit yourself to God, and not to sin,
And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace (Romans 6.13–14).
Since you have been baptized into Christ and into His death, that means you are supposed to be dead to sin. Therefore, sin should not have dominion over you, running your life, because you have presented yourself as an instrument to God that He may use you for righteousness.
- Do you fight the battle against sin daily?
- Do you sometimes give up and let sin win?
- When you do sin, do you repent and seek the Lord’s forgiveness?
