God cuts off and God exalts

Psalms Bible Background

08.05.2016 – Old Testament: Psa 75.10

To read the Bible in a year, read Psalms 75–77 on August 5, In the year of our Lord 2016

By Don Ruhl

In Psalm 75, Asaph gave thanks to God for His wondrous works, two of which the psalmist mentioned in verse 10,

“All the horns of the wicked I will also cut off,
But the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.”
(Psalm 75.10)

If you are wicked, God cuts you off, if you never repent. If you are righteous and remain so, God exalts you. Sounds simple enough. Now you know what to do. Go and do it.

Questions:

  • Does righteousness come naturally to you yet?
  • If not, what do you need to do to make it so?
