Does the God of heaven truly want to hear our prayers? Is He not busy running the universe? Why or how could He have time to listen to what all His children have to say? What proof do we have that He wants to hear us? Here it is,

Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered (Romans 8.26).

God uses the Spirit to help us in our weaknesses, in particular in our prayers, because we truly do not know how to pray, nor for what to pray, but the Spirit makes up for our insufficiency by interceding for us. That tells me that God wants to hear our prayers!

Questions:

  • Do you pray without ceasing?
  • Are your prayers for matters of the spirit, or are they only for matters of the flesh?
