What does the resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth mean for us? We know that it demonstrated Him to be the Son of God, but does it also imply something for us? As Paul wrote,
But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep (1 Corinthians 15.20).
Yes, Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. When we become His disciples that means we follow Him wherever He goes, which means further that we shall also experience a resurrection, first in water baptism, then at the end the Lord will raise us up from the grave, because He is the firstfruits. Firstfruits implies second fruits and so on. That is us.
- Are you a Christian?
- Have you been baptized into water that you might be baptized into Christ.
