To read the Bible in a year, read Song of Solomon 1–3 on September 21, In the year of our Lord 2016

Lovesickness! The Shulamite in the Song of Solomon had this “problem,” because her heart yearned for the man she loved,
He brought me to the banqueting house,
And his banner over me was love.
Sustain me with cakes of raisins,
Refresh me with apples,
For I am lovesick.
He brought her to the banqueting house, which had a banner: His love for her, showing that he was not ashamed of her. She was glad to be at this banquet, because she needed cakes of raisins to sustain her, she needed apples to refresh her. Why did she need sustaining and refreshing? She was lovesick.
