What we give for our fellow-Christians

2 Corinthians Bible Background

09.21.2016 – New Testament: 2Co 12.15

To read the Bible in a year, read Second Corinthians 12 on September 21, In the year of our Lord 2016

By Don Ruhl

After Paul stated how parents lay up for the children; he then stated how it was for him toward the Corinthian Church,

And I will very gladly spend and be spent for your souls; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I am loved (2 Corinthians 12.15).

Truly, does that not picture the thinking of all Christians? Souls rank at the top of our lists. Therefore, we will gladly spend and even be spent ourselves for the sake of saving souls.

Questions:

  • What are you willing to do and to spend for your fellow-Christians?
  • Are you willing to give yourself for others in your congregation?
