The true God hides Himself

Isaiah Bible Background

10.11.2016 – Old Testament: Isa 45.15

To read the Bible in a year, read Isaiah 45–47 on October 11, In the year of our Lord 2016

You can see an idol, but the true hides Himself, showing that He is able to hide Himself and He does it to protect us,

Truly You are God, who hide Yourself,
O God of Israel, the Savior!
(Isaiah 45.15)

If man did see God, man would not survive the experience, unless God intervenes. People want God to show Himself, but they do not realize how they would suffer, if He did show Himself. Then again, He took on humanity, and people still did not like Him and nailed Him to a cross.

Questions:

  • What do you expect from God?
  • Are your expectations based biblically?
