10.18.2016 – New Testament: 2Th 1.3–4
To read the Bible in a year, read Second Thessalonians 1 on October 18, In the year of our Lord 2016
By Don Ruhl
We can show faith and love when nothing challenges us, but what happens when life goes against us, or when people persecute us? Paul commended the Thessalonian Christians because they continued in faith and love, and even grew in them during affliction,
We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is fitting, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of every one of you all abounds toward each other, so that we ourselves boast of you among the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that you endure… (2 Thessalonians 1.3–4).
If you have faith and love, come to the realization that they will be challenged, and right now you would do well to keep growing in them, so that when the challenges arrive, you will be ready for them, and you will win!
- Do you know someone, or even a whole church, like the Thessalonians?
- Have you been praying for them, especially giving thanks to God for them?
