12.03.2016 – New Testament: 1Jo 2.17
To read the Bible in a year, read First John 2 on December 3, In the year of our Lord 2016
By Don Ruhl
After revealing the things of the world that Christians do not want to embrace, John revealed further what will happen to the world, hence the things of the world,
And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever (1 John 2.17).
The world is passing away and the lust of the world will pass with the world. Why then embrace those things, in particular the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life?
Rather do the will of God, for he who does the will of God will abide forever, even as the will of God abides forever.
- What shapes your thinking: the world or the will of God?
- What can you do to focus upon the will of God and to keep the world out of your head?
