12.04.2016 – Old Testament: Dan 4.1–3
To read the Bible in a year, read Daniel 3–4 on December 4, In the year of our Lord 2016
By Don Ruhl
Among the greatest kings the world has ever seen, Nebuchadnezzar ranks in the top ten. One reason for that is that he finally recognized how he became king and who truly reigns in the kingdoms of men. The king began a confession in this manner,
Nebuchadnezzar the king, To all peoples, nations, and languages that dwell in all the earth: Peace be multiplied to you. I thought it good to declare the signs and wonders that the Most High God has worked for me. How great are His signs, and how mighty His wonders! His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and His dominion is from generation to generation (Daniel 4.1–3).
The king acknowledged what we should all acknowledge, but the king had to learn this truth about God the hard way, experiencing humiliation before He realized the truth about the God we serve.
- What do you think of that last sentence in the quotation?
- Do you believe that the Most High God rules in your nation right now?
