Have you murdered someone? According to the Bible, we do not necessarily commit murder by killing someone’s body, but we might do it in other ways,
We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love his brother abides in death. Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him (1 John 3.14–15).
If you hate your brother, the Bible says that equals having killed him, for murder begins in the heart, the place where hate for a brother begins.
You can know that murder does not reside in your heart, if you love your brother. Notice that John did not put a condition upon it, but we love even as our Lord loved, including His enemies.
- Have you hated a brother or sister before?
- Have you rid yourself of that hate?
