03.22.2017 – New Testament: Luke 2.42
To read the Bible in a year, read Luke 2.25–52 on March 22, In the year of our Lord 2017
By Don Ruhl
We most often picture Jesus as an infant and as a man, but not much of Him in between. We do have a glimpse of Him when He was 12,
And when He was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem according to the custom of the feast (Luke 2.42).
He spent time with the teachers of the Law, and a brief interaction with Joseph and Mary followed. Other than that, we see Him next when He was about 30.
He was a 5-year old boy, and a 25-year old man. However, the Holy Spirit has kept those years in silence, because the Holy Spirit did not reveal the contents of Scripture to satisfy our curiosity, but to lead us to the truth that we might be saved.
- Do you consider 30 years to be young or old?
- How many men in their early thirties speak with the wisdom of Jesus?
