03.26.2017 – New Testament: Luke 5.6–7
To read the Bible in a year, read Luke 5.1–16 on March 26, In the year of our Lord 2017
By Don Ruhl
Peter had fished all night in a certain location and did not catch a thing. The next day the Lord told Peter to let down his net for a catch, and Peter let the Lord know that it would not work, but that Peter would do what the Lord said anyway (I suppose to prove himself right and the Lord wrong),
And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking. So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink (Luke 5.6–7).
Do you think the Lord knows more than we do about this Earth, and whatever it is that He commands us to do? I am sure that everyone would say, Yes, yet do we show, Yes, by our actions, or do we show that we believe we know more than He does?
- Is there a command or teaching of the Lord Jesus that you neglect because you believe His way will not work?
- Are you prepared to meet Him at the Judgment to explain how your way supersedes His way?
- What do you know that you think the Lord does not know?
