A man demanded that Jesus side with him in a family controversy about an inheritance, but Jesus gave this warning,
“Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses” (Luke 12.15).
That sure is a temptation, isn’t it? We do think that our lives will be better, if only we possessed more things. Yet, look around you, discontentment fills every part of society.
- If life does not consist of the abundance of the things we posses, of what does it consist?
- Upon what have you based your life?
