Some people read the Scriptures for the first time and expect to understand it all easily. When they do not, they either get angry or frustrated, and give up on trying to understand the Bible. However, sometimes we have to wait and we will see the interpretation later,
His disciples did not understand these things at first; but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written about Him and that they had done these things to Him (John 12.16).
These men would take the message of Jesus into the world for the first time, but they did not get it all initially. If they did not, do not expect yourself to know it all at the beginning. Be patient.
- What do you do when you cannot understand a passage of Scripture?
- Have you not understood something in the past, but now you see its meaning?
