06.01.2017 Old Testament: 2Ch 5.7–9
To read the Bible in a year, read Second Chronicles 4–6 on June 1, In the year of our Lord 2017
By Don Ruhl
When Solomon made the temple, he made huge cherubim to sit on the Ark of the Lord,
Then the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of the LORD to its place, into the inner sanctuary of the temple, to the Most Holy Place, under the wings of the cherubim. For the cherubim spread their wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubim overshadowed the ark and its poles. The poles extended so that the ends of the poles of the ark could be seen from the holy place, in front of the inner sanctuary; but they could not be seen from outside. And they are there to this day (2 Chronicles 5.7–9).
Between the cherubim was the Mercy Seat where the Lord met with the high priest. Therefore these cherubim were special, representing the true cherubim in heaven and representing the Gospel Accounts of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (See Ezekiel 1 and notice the four things carrying the Lord).
- What do you want to see when you get to heaven?
- What thing that has been on the Earth in the past, do you wish you could have seen?
