06.19.2017 – New Testament: Neh 9.22–25
To read the Bible in a year, read Nehemiah 9–11 on June 19, In the year of our Lord 2017

Nehemiah 9 records a prayer of the Levites. The prayer consists of remembering how God blessed Israel coming out of Egypt and then into the Land of Canaan, but the prayer also remembered how Israel sinned against God, and then how He continuously forgave them. Part of their prayer remembered the blessings He gave Israel in their new land,
“Moreover You gave them kingdoms and nations…
You also multiplied their children as the stars of heaven…
You subdued before them the inhabitants of the land…
And they took strong cities and a rich land,
And possessed houses full of all goods,
Cisterns already dug, vineyards, olive groves,
And fruit trees in abundance.
So they ate and were filled and grew fat,
And delighted themselves in Your great goodness.”
Truly every blessing we enjoy on the Earth comes from God. Why then would anyone turn away from Him? Yet, it happens everyday!
- When was the last time you praised God for the blessings you enjoy?
- In what ways has God blessed you in the spirit?
