Do you have some money? Does it make you feel more powerful than when you did not have money? Watch out for money, for it will make you think that you are something when you are nothing. After Simon saw the apostles give people the Holy Spirit, Simon tried to buy that power from the apostles,
But Peter said to him, “Your money perish with you, because you thought that the gift of God could be purchased with money! You have neither part nor portion in this matter, for your heart is not right in the sight of God” (Acts 8.20–21).
If you trust money, your heart is not right in the sight of God! Always remember who gave you the ability to earn money, and never forget Him. Money is a tool, but not for getting special privileges in the kingdom.
- Have you thought before that you mattered more because you had more money than the next guy?
- Is your money your servant or your master?
