07.14.2017 Old Testament: Psa 14.4–6
To read the Bible in a year, read Psalms 13–16 on July 14, In the year of our Lord 2017
By Don Ruhl
The wicked attack God’s people, but the wicked do not know what they do, for His people are the apple of His eye, and you do not poke God in the eye without getting into serious trouble, as the psalmist wrote,
Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge,
Who eat up my people as they eat bread,
And do not call on the Lord?
There they are in great fear,
For God is with the generation of the righteous.
You shame the counsel of the poor,
But the Lord is his refuge.
The workers of iniquity show their ignorance when they eat up God’s people, as though eating bread, and they fail to call on the Lord.
However, the time shall come when they will be in great fear, because God is with His people, and although the wicked shame the counsel of the poor, the Lord is a refuge for His people.
