Some Christians at Corinth thought that Paul was less than the other apostles. In Second Corinthians 11, he showed them why he was not. It was not a personal thing, but his full-fledged apostleship meant they were full-fledged Christians. Part of what he said was this,
Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is made to stumble, and I do not burn with indignation? (2 Corinthians 11.29).
Apostles cared genuinely for people. Therefore, when a Christian experienced weakness in the spirit or stumbled, it affected Paul deep in his inner being.
Questions:
- What do you think and feel inside when a Christian falls away?
- What do you do about it?
