09.26.2017 – New Testament: Gal 4.12
To read the Bible in a year, read Galatians 4 on September 26, In the year of our Lord 2017
By Don Ruhl
Paul went to the area of Galatia that he might bring people there to Christ, but to do so, he had to become as they were,
Brethren, I urge you to become like me, for I became like you. You have not injured me at all (Galatians 4.12).
He became like them as far as the kind of people they were, not imitating their sin, of course, but Paul became all things to all men that he might save some. He wanted them to see Jesus living in him and thus to imitate what they saw of Jesus in him.
Questions:
- If people become as you are, does that mean they will become followers of Christ?
- Do you seek to become like other people?
