10.09.2017 – Old Testament: Isa 41.26
To read the Bible in a year, read Isaiah 41–42 on October 9, In the year of our Lord 2017
By Don Ruhl
We know the God of the Bible is the true God because He has revealed things to come, and they happened just as He said that they would happen. Who else can do that but God? Also, He can do another thing in regard to time that no one else can do,
“Who has declared from the beginning, that we may know?
And former times, that we may say, ‘He is righteous’?
Surely there is no one who shows,
Surely there is no one who declares,
Surely there is no one who hears your words.”
(Isaiah 41.26)
Who can say what happened in the beginning? The only one who can declare what happened is the One who was there. How do we know that He speaks accurately? Let us consider one event that He speaks of in the Scriptures: Noah’s Flood. Does the world show evidence of global flooding? Yes. Wherever you go, you can see water-laid layers. Therefore, the God of the Bible is the only One who can declare the beginning.
Questions:
- If the God of the Bible can declare the beginning, can He declare what shall be the end?
- What is the end?
