11.29.2017 – New Testament: 2Pe 1.19
To read the Bible in a year, read Second Peter 1 on November 29, In the year of our Lord 2017
By Don Ruhl
Peter experienced something wonderful when he, James, and John saw the Lord transfigured and they heard the voice of the Father confirming Jesus of Nazareth as the Son of God. Then Peter said,
And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts… (2 Peter 1.19).
In an understated way, Peter declared that we do well to heed the prophetic word as we would a light that shines in a dark place. If we do not heed the word, we will suffer the eternal, horrible consequences. Therefore, read the words of Scripture as though your eternity depends on what you read, for it does.
