How do you speak with your brothers and sisters in Christ? The way the first-century church spoke to one another was an extension of what truly lived in their hearts. Read John’s words as he wrote to a friend,

The Elder,
To the beloved Gaius, whom I love in truth… (3 John 1). 

“Love” managed to show up twice in the first few opening words of John’s little letter to his friend. Friendship in Christ supersedes all other forms of friendship, for it will last forever.
