There is a blessing in waiting

Daniel Bible Background

12.08.2017 – Old Testament: Dan 12.12

To read the Bible in a year, read Daniel 11–12 on December 8, In the year of our Lord 2017

By Don Ruhl

The Lord revealed to Daniel things about the future from his perspective. Concerning those events, it was not as though Daniel needed to do anything, except to know that the Lord has the world under His control. Therefore, He told the prophet,

Blessed is he who waits, and comes to the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days (Daniel 12.12).

Whatever the meaning of the 1,335 days, notice the blessing came not through knowing everything that the Bible says, but in waiting. You are blessed for waiting.

Questions:

  • How are you at waiting?
  • Does knowing that the Lord controls the world, make you a patient person?
