12.20.2017 – Old Testament: Mic 5.7–8
To read the Bible in a year, read Micah 4–5 on December 20, In the year of our Lord 2017
By Don Ruhl
Micah 5.2 prophesied of the birthplace of the Messiah. Then the prophet spoke of the work of the Messiah, enabling the Jews to do this,
Then the remnant of Jacob
Shall be in the midst of many peoples,
Like dew from the LORD,
Like showers on the grass,
That tarry for no man
Nor wait for the sons of men.
And the remnant of Jacob
Shall be among the Gentiles,
In the midst of many peoples,
Like a lion among the beasts of the forest,
Like a young lion among flocks of sheep,
Who, if he passes through,
Both treads down and tears in pieces,
And none can deliver.
Just as the prophet has spoken, those few Jews who accepted Jesus of Nazareth as the Messiah, were then sent by Him into the world and planted His church/kingdom everywhere. This has been a blessing to every nation, for those churches are now mostly comprised of Gentle converts and they in turn bless their communities.
