We have images in our minds of the peaceful, loving, and accepting Jesus, but the Bible also shows this picture of Him,

Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God (Revelation 19.15). 

We want to make sure that we stay on His good side! Otherwise, we shall suffer badly, but this passage is in the Book of Revelation to show Jesus fighting for His people and against their enemies! Take heart, therefore, for the Lord of heaven and earth fights for you.

Questions:

• Why does anyone even think of opposing Jesus and His church?
• Why do most people think they can do without Jesus and His church?
