John had just said that those who do the commandments of Jesus Christ have the right to come to the tree of life and they may enter through the gates into the city of heaven. Contrariwise, he wrote,

But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie (Revelation 22.15).

No one can fault the Bible or Bible writers for failing to lay things out clearly. The dogs are those outside of Christ; they and sorcerers, sexually immoral people, murderers, idolaters, and liars shall not enter that magnificent city.

Questions:

• According to the Bible, especially Revelation 22.14–15, where will you spend eternity?
• Do you know what the commandments of Jesus are that you might enter the heavenly city?
