Why treating others badly does not make sense

Malachi Bible Background

12.31.2017 – Old Testament: Mal 2.10

To read the Bible in a year, read Malachi on December 31, In the year of our Lord 2017

As the Lord closed out the Hebrew Bible (The Old Testament), it surprises me that the Jews had so many spiritual problems that the Book of Malachi reveals. Why had they not learned from their own Scriptures and from their own history? The answer is the same for Christians, why does the church still have so many spiritual problems after having the full Bible for over 1900 years and with 1900 years of history from which to learn?

Here was another problem of the Jews. They treated one another horribly and Malachi showed what was wrong with that,

Have we not all one Father?
Has not one God created us?
Why do we deal treacherously with one another
By profaning the covenant of the fathers?
(Malachi 2.10)

The Jews should not have treated one another treacherously because one God had created them. Well, is that not true of the entire human race? One God has created all of us. Therefore, we should not treat one another badly, but we should see that we all have one Father.

Questions:

  • Have you contemplated the idea that you are related to every person on earth?
  • How do you treat people?
