02.14.2018 – Old Testament: Lev 19.9–10
To read the Bible in a year, read Leviticus 18–19 on February 14, In the year of our Lord 2018
By Don Ruhl
The Lord blessed Israel highly when they kept His commands, but He wanted them to know that it was not about getting everything for themselves and forgetting about others, even when it came to harvesting their crops,
“When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not wholly reap the corners of your field, nor shall you gather the gleanings of your harvest. And you shall not glean your vineyard, nor shall you gather every grape of your vineyard; you shall leave them for the poor and the stranger: I am the LORD your God” (Leviticus 19.9–10).
Even as the Lord looked out for Israel in their crops, so with their crops the Israelites had to look out for the poor and the stranger.
