03.09.2018 – Old Testament: Deu 9.12
To read the Bible in a year, read Deuteronomy 8–10 on March 9, In the year of our Lord 2018
By Don Ruhl
Moses spent time in the presence of God up on a mountain, but down below Israel had already started to turn away from the Lord,
“Then the LORD said to me, ‘Arise, go down quickly from here, for your people whom you brought out of Egypt have acted corruptly; they have quickly turned aside from the way which I commanded them; they have made themselves a molded image’” (Deuteronomy 9.12).
After witnessing the plagues on Egypt and after escaping through the Red Sea and after already experiencing the Lord’s blessings in the wilderness, how could Israel so quickly worship an idol?
Questions:
- Have you seen new Christians quickly fall away?
- Have you always remained loyal to the Lord?
