04.10.2018 – New Testament: Luke 12.35–36
To read the Bible in a year, read Luke 12.35–59 on April 10, In the year of our Lord 2018
By Don Ruhl
The Hebrew Bible prophesied of the arrival of the Messiah, giving many signs that the Jews might know when He had arrived. However, His Second Coming has no accompanying signs. That being the case, Jesus taught,
“Let your waist be girded and your lamps burning; and you yourselves be like men who wait for their master, when he will return from the wedding, that when he comes and knocks they may open to him immediately” (Luke 12.35–36).
We know that He is coming again, but we have no idea when He shall come. Therefore, the point of Jesus is that we should always be ready. We do not get ready by watching world events and trying to predict when He will return, we get ready by godly living.
- Are you living a godly life?
- Are you ready for the Lord to return at any time?
