The Lord directed the building of the first temple

1 Chronicles Bible Background

05.30.2018 – Old Testament: 1Ch 28.19

To read the Bible in a year, read First Chronicles 28–29 on May 30, In the year of our Lord 2018

By Don Ruhl

First Chronicles 28.11–13 reveals that David gave plants for the temple to Solomon, and verses 14–18 show David giving Solomon gold and silver for the temple. Then the writer, Ezra, said:

“All this,” said David, “the LORD made me understand in writing, by His hand upon me, all the works of these plans” (1 Chronicles 28.19).

Therefore, David did not do all that he did by his own will, but the Lord by His Spirit directed David on what to do and how everything should look and how it all should function.

David always operated under the direction of the Lord and His Scriptures, which is the way we should operate.
