05.31.2018 – New Testament: John 12.17–18
To read the Bible in a year, read John 12.1–19 on May 31, In the year of our Lord 2018
By Don Ruhl
Jesus had stood at the entrance of the tomb of Lazarus and called out his name, and Lazarus rose from the dead and came out of the tomb.
Therefore the people, who were with Him when He called Lazarus out of his tomb and raised him from the dead, bore witness. For this reason the people also met Him, because they heard that He had done this sign (John 12.17–18).
People saw Jesus raise Lazarus from the dead and they told their family and friends about it. They must have invited them to meet both Jesus and Lazarus. And truly it is that simple; just invite people to your worship service, for example, and you might be surprised to see that some will come.
Questions:
- Do you invite people to your worship assembly?
- How did you first learn about Jesus?
