By Don Ruhl

As Solomon prepared to build the temple in Jerusalem, he sought supplies and workers from Tyre. He wrote to the king of Tyre about what he was proposing to do and for whom he was building the temple, saying in part:

“But who is able to build Him a temple, since heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain Him? Who am I then, that I should build Him a temple, except to burn sacrifice before Him?” (2 Chronicles 2.6).

What a magnificent declaration of the God of heaven! Yet, when Solomon finished the temple, God did dwell in it and He dwells in all those whose heart is broken over their sin and who go to Him for forgiveness.

Questions:

  • Do you know what to do to have God forgive your sins?
  • Do you think on the grandness of God?
