To read the Bible in a year, read Second Chronicles 7–9 on June 2, In the year of our Lord 2018
By Don Ruhl
The Lord wants us to do His will as revealed in the Scriptures. Therefore, He makes it plain what He wants done and what He will do in response, as He said to Solomon:
“As for you, if you walk before Me as your father David walked, and do according to all that I have commanded you, and if you keep My statutes and My judgments, then I will establish the throne of your kingdom, as I covenanted with David your father, saying, ‘You shall not fail to have a man as ruler in Israel’” (2 Chronicles 7.17–18).
The Lord said to Solomon that he just needed to use his father David as an example and do whatever the Lord wants done, then the Lord promised to establish the throne of Solomon. Do you find that difficult to understand?
Questions:
- Do you believe that following the Lord today is just as simple?
- Is there a command that you have trouble following?
