The world sees not, but the disciples see

John Bible Background

06.04.2018 – New Testament: John 14.19

To read the Bible in a year, read John 14 on June 4, In the year of our Lord 2018

By Don Ruhl

The night before He died, Jesus let the apostles know that a change was coming so that the world and the disciples would see things differently:

“A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also” (John 14.19).

Jesus would die and rise from the dead, but He would not appear to the world, only to people who knew Him. Also, His resurrection from the dead would make it possible for them, and for us, to rise from the dead!

Questions:

  • Do you think about seeing Jesus after you die?
  • Do you think about following Jesus everyday?
