The makers of idols shall eventually be in shame, but for those who trust in the Lord, they shall never be ashamed, because like Israel in the past, the Lord shall save them:
But Israel shall be saved by the LORD
With an everlasting salvation;
You shall not be ashamed or disgraced
Forever and ever.
For thus says the LORD,
Who created the heavens,
Who is God,
Who formed the earth and made it,
Who has established it,
Who did not create it in vain,
Who formed it to be inhabited:
“I am the LORD, and there is no other.
I have not spoken in secret,
In a dark place of the earth;
I did not say to the seed of Jacob,
‘Seek Me in vain’;
I, the LORD, speak righteousness,
I declare things that are right.”
Idol makers would go down in shame, but Israel would be unashamed because the Lord would save them. Here is how we know this to be true. Isaiah declared that the Lord created the earth and He did not create it in vain, but He intended for it to be inhabited. Therefore, He created man to live on the earth. In the same way, He did not tell Israel to seek Him in vain, but He intended for them to find Him, and then He would save them.
- Have you found the Lord?
- Do you know what He wants from you?
