Naphtali means, “My struggle,” but in time the tribe that would descend from him did beautiful things, as Jacob prophesied:
“Naphtali is a deer let loose;
He uses beautiful words.”
(Genesis 49.21, NKJV; NIV and ESV have “Fawns” instead of “Words”)
His mother may have struggled, but she gave to the world someone who brought forth beautiful words, like a deer let loose.
