01.25.2019 – Old Testament: Exo 10.1–2
To read the Bible in a year, read Exodus 9–10 on January 25, In the year of our Lord Christ 2019
By Don Ruhl
The plagues should have caused Pharaoh to change his mind about letting Israel go, but as you know, it was not until the tenth plague that he finally did let Israel go, and even then he changed his mind afterward and pursued Israel. Earlier, when the Lord was about to put the eighth plague on Egypt, He had said to Moses:
“Go in to Pharaoh; for I have hardened his heart and the hearts of his servants, that I may show these signs of Mine before him, and that you may tell in the hearing of your son and your son’s son the mighty things I have done in Egypt, and My signs which I have done among them, that you may know that I am the LORD” (Exodus 10.1–2).
The plagues did show just who the Lord was, and that He had (still has) control over nature and any force that opposes Him and that He can uses His power over nature to fight His enemies.
